Check Amazon prices and deals from Claude or Cursor
You don't need to write code to give your AI assistant live Amazon data. ASIN402 publishes an MCP server, the standard way assistants like Claude Desktop and Cursor connect to tools. Once it's added, you can ask questions in plain language and the assistant fetches real prices, history and analysis on its own.
What you can ask
- "Is 0735211299 a good deal right now?"
- "Should I sell ASIN B0EXAMPLE1 on FBA if it costs me $4.50 landed?"
- "Find kitchen products between $20 and $50 with 300+ monthly sales, fewer than 8 sellers and no Amazon offer."
- "What are today's biggest buy box price drops on products rated 4 stars or more?"
- "Compare the price history of these three ASINs over the last 90 days."
How payment works
There's no account or subscription. Each tool call is paid automatically, in USDC on the Base network, from a wallet you control, using the x402 protocol. Most calls cost between $0.005 and $0.10.
You set two limits, and the server refuses anything beyond them before paying:
- Per-call cap (
ASIN402_MAX_PER_CALL, default $0.25) - Session budget (
ASIN402_BUDGET, default $5 until the assistant restarts)
Failed calls are never charged.
Setup in 3 steps
1. Create a small dedicated wallet
Use any wallet app (MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet), create a new wallet just for this, export its private key, and send it a few dollars of USDC on Base. Make sure you pick the Base network when sending. Never use your main wallet: the key is stored in your assistant's config file.
2. Add ASIN402 to your assistant
Claude Desktop: open Settings → Developer → Edit Config and add:
{
"mcpServers": {
"asin402": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "asin402-mcp"],
"env": {
"ASIN402_PRIVATE_KEY": "0xYOUR_DEDICATED_WALLET_KEY",
"ASIN402_BUDGET": "5",
"ASIN402_MAX_PER_CALL": "0.25"
}
}
}
}
Cursor uses the same block in ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Most other MCP clients accept the same format. The server is also listed in the official MCP Registry as com.asin402/mcp.
You need Node.js installed for npx to work.
3. Restart the assistant
After restarting, you'll see the ASIN402 tools in the assistant's tool list. Ask "check my ASIN402 wallet" to confirm everything works: wallet_status is free and shows your balance and remaining budget.

Troubleshooting
- "No wallet configured": the
ASIN402_PRIVATE_KEYline is missing or misspelled. Check the config, save, and restart the assistant. - "Session budget reached": you hit
ASIN402_BUDGET. Restart the assistant or raise the value. - "Costs more than your per-call cap": a request (for example a large best-sellers list) is priced above
ASIN402_MAX_PER_CALL. Raise the cap if you want it. - Payments failing: check that the wallet holds USDC on Base, not on Ethereum or another network.
